The First Batch of Hangzhou Historic Buildings (2004)
The first batch of Hangzhou historic buildings is the list of 75 buildings that the city of Hangzhou declared protected on 24 May 2004, in notice 杭政办函〔2004〕154号. This page sums up what the batch contains and what the notice asked for, then lists every building with its number, period and address.

The first batch at a glance
Its 75 buildings set the pattern for the whole list: Republican-era villas on Nanshan and Beishan roads and the Geling hill above West Lake, the Yuanmaoli lane houses, the former sites of the Xianning, Manao and Zhaoxian temples, Sichengtang Church, early public works such as the former Zhejiang Telecommunications Bureau and postal administration, and the former residences of Huang Fu, Mao Yisheng and Du Yuesheng.

What the notice said
The notice, issued by the General Office of the municipal government, asked the city's housing administration to keep a record of each building, put up protection signs and sign protection agreements with owners and users, and the planning department to define protection areas and draw up a protection plan for each building. It cited the Hangzhou historic city conservation plan.
Today the 2013 regulations set out what every listed building's owner and the city must do, whichever batch it came from.
